| ThumbNailer is a Java Bean and associated support code for generating Thumbnail composite images and HTML image maps from a set of images. The bean was written as part of Interati's Eden project - hence the lack of a name! - and will be included in release 1 of Eden.
A thumbnail is a small, often thumbsized, copy of an image of small size. (The idea being that the thumbnail is small and thus quick to download)
A composite thumbnail image is one consisting of a group of thumbnails. (The idea here being that it quicker to download one large image than lots of small ones).
The Thumbnailer is released under the Gnu General Public Licence. |
