JavaBeans / Graphics / Extended DirectoryPane The Extended DirectoryPane API provides a set of Swing components that take care of all the complex File related actions in a GUI of an application. With The Extended DirectoryPane API it's easy to build complex graphical user interfaces that view and manipulate files and directories of a computer's filesystem. The main component of the API, called a DirectoryPane, is a JComponent that lists directories and files of a computer's filesystem either as a list, a table or a tree. A DirectoryPane lets you browse, select, delete, add or rename files and directories of a filesystem directly through an application's GUI. The API also provides a set of JComponents that are bound to a DirectoryPane. Those bound components are buttons for going up one directory, going to a homedirectory or creating a new directory, comboboxes for choosing or entering a directory, textfields and comboboxes for creating and choosing filefilters etc ... Those bound components have all event binding from and to the DirectoryPane pre-installed and are ready to use in your GUI layout. To build a file related GUI for your application, all you have to do is put a DirectoryPane component and its bound components in your GUI layout. The rest of the (enerving) work is done for you!
