| SSML Edit is an editor for content developer based on SSML Standards recommended by W3C
The standard enables the content developer to provide additional information for the specified text to be read out. Like how a sentence or paragraph can be read out in male or female voice, pitch, emphasis, prosody, audio, say-as, break, mark etc values can be set by the content developer.
These are stored as SSML files which are basically in XML format.
A Text-To-Speech system that supports SSML will be responsible for rendering a document as spoken output and for using the information contained in the mark-up to render the document as intended by the content developer. The Text-To-Speech system provided the content to be read out to the speech output.
The text content that is provided to the speech synthesis engine is smaller in size compared to the media content. Therefore this uses less bandwidth. SSML system is like a web radio, which is especially useful for people who are blind. |
