No Magic is pleased to announce the next MagicDraw UML 9.0 EAP beta2 Version which include the main features that will be in the final 9.0 GA Release. This EAP beta2 Version features UML 2.0 notation support for specifying business and technical requirements and first in Industry Visual Model Differencing which allows for quick, visual comparisons between two models. Another important feature is the transformation of UML models to specific XML Schema, WSDL, and DB models. Thus, enabling architects and developers to reduce significantly the time and costs incurred for creating platform specific models.
MagicDraw UML 9.0 GA (Final Release) will be released in December. In order to make the final release as the best as possible, we encourage you to try these new features and give us as much feedback as possible during the EAP beta2 period. We will be testing MagicDraw intensively during this period to insure the highest quality release.
MagicDraw 9.0 EAP beta2 includes:
- UML 2.0 Notation Support. Use the power of UML 2.0 standard support.
- Visual Model differencing - This allows you to see the changes made between two different versions of a model. Enterprise Edition Only.
- Transformation of UML models to specific XML Schema, WSDL, and DB models. Ability to customize or add transformations. Enterprise Edition Only.
- UML model, system analysis and requirements metrics enable project leaders, head analysts, and head architects to measure projects performance by different viewpoints and review models.
- Find Usages/Dependencies - MagicDraw users can track/view element dependencies in the UML model. This timesaving feature allows analysts and architects to automatically analyze existing models. This feature is available in Standard, Professional, and Enterprise Editions.
- DB improvements for Oracle.
- JDK 1.5 support.
- Teamwork/module improvements:
- Ability to store user specific configurations on the server;
- Table of used modules on a commit and the ability to choose the add/merge/import option;
- Ability to mark a module/project as "stable" and use some fixed version of the teamwork module (latest/latest stable/fixed version number).
- Resource download module. Coming in Final GA Release Only.
